The Roads is a diamond shaped neighborhood in Miami, located just west of Brickell. Rotated off the normal street grid of Miami, The Roads Neighborhood holds some of the only diagonally oriented streets. The name of this neighborhood was born from this unique orientation of its streets which are called Roads (instead of streets as seen elsewhere in Miami). With it’s wide streets, median parkways, and roundabouts, The Roads has a pedestrian character that is all it’s own. Designed by Mary Brickell in 1922, homes in the Roads were highly sought after early on and rapidly became one of Miami’s most distinguished neighborhoods. Residents of the Roads support their neighborhood through The Roads Neighborhood Civic Association.
The Roads is separated to the north and south by Coral Way (3rd Ave) which is known for its lush canopy of old growth Banyon Trees and quick access to the heart of Brickell.
